Retirement issues

We are delighted to invite you to a late afternoon seminar on retirement issues, aimed at clients involved in HR and pensions work, taking place on 25 February 2014.
 
Recent research from Saga reveals a 33.5% rise in the number of over 65s in employment over the last three years. This development presents both HR and pension challenges in managing an ageing workforce.
 
Speakers from the Hogan Lovells employment and pensions teams will consider a variety of topics, including:

  • practical implications of the abolition of the statutory default retirement age and associated age discrimination issues;
  • whether the proposed extension in April 2014 of the right to request flexible working to all employees will result in more requests from older workers;
  • provision of pension benefits for employees staying on after age 65; and
  • member communications on and leading up to retirement.

The seminar will be informal, with refreshments available throughout.  We hope you will join us for drinks following the presentations.
